Head Varsity Girls Coach
Coach Kim (Butler) West has come full circle as she embarks on the head coaching job at Bellarmine Prep.  She was raised in Tacoma and was a 12-letter athlete at Bellarmine, leading the Lions girls soccer team to a state championship (2001) and successful state competitions in both basketball and track.

Kim then attended Santa Clara University, where she played two years with her sister, Julie.  She finished her career at Oregon State before embarking on her journey to play basketball professionally.  After a short stint with the Los Angeles Sparks, Kim moved to Europe to continue her professional career.  She played in Greece, Israel, Slovakia, Spain, Latvia, and Italy.

Culminating her career as a player, Kim played in the 2012 Olympic Games as a member of the Great Britain Women’s Basketball team.  Coach Kim is excited to instill what she has learned from the game of basketball to all those who attend.  She hopes that the game will allow just as many life lessons to the campers as she has been blessed with in her life.  Now let’s have some fun!
